Boyd Cottages’ Residents Invite Community to Share “A Time to Reminisce”

“A Time to Reminisce” will celebrate the residents of Boyd Cottages bringing the past and present into an Exhibit open to the public on Saturday, May 13 from 2-4 p.m. at the assisted living facility in Waynesboro.

“We are excited to showcase the talents and accomplishments of our residents in this way for the community to see,” said Mrs. Lillie H. Brewer. The residents at Boyd Cottages already share many pieces of art work at the facility such as paintings by Mrs. Earlene Wilson. Mrs. Ruby Lopp, the Boyd Cottages centurion, is known for the paper boxes she made and shared as gifts to friends for many years. Mrs. Elsie Berry is known for her beautiful needlework.

Boyd Cottages’ residents and their families will display arts and crafts and other personal items of interest for the community to enjoy on Saturday afternoon. “We encourage members of the community to come by and see for themselves the talents and gifts of each of our residents,” Mrs. Brewer added.

The community event also promises to provide a living history for visitors. Boyd Cottages’ residents will be on hand to provide history lessons and the backside story related to the items on display.

The staff at Boyd Cottages is all about enriching the lives of our residents, Aundra Ray, RN and Activities Director, explained. “A Time to Reminisce provides an opportunity for each of them to remember and celebrate past accomplishments and talents and share with the community.”

The afternoon exhibit is part of the day-long events in Waynesboro starting with the Rotary Pancake Breakfast and the annual Flower and Garden Show.

The event is free and open to the public. Boyd Cottages is located at 210 Fairlane Drive in Waynesboro, TN. For more information contact Aundra Ray at 931-722-2000 or visit us at www.boydcottages.com.
